Honor is reportedly preparing to unveil the highly anticipated Honor GT 2 smartphone lineup as a follow-up to the previous generation Honor GT series. Although an official announcement has not been made, multiple early leaks provide a clear picture of what users can expect from the upcoming flagship models. The Honor GT 2 series is said to come equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processors, signaling a major performance boost. Another strong upgrade expected is the battery capacity, rumored to exceed 9000mAh, which could make the device among the highest battery-capacity smartphones available in the market. The phones may also support advanced features such as a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and improved water resistance technology, enhancing durability for everyday use.
According to reports from tipster Digital Chat Station, the Honor GT 2 models may launch before the end of 2025. The leaked specifications further suggest that the lineup will include a 1.5K resolution display paired with a sturdy metal frame. The rear camera system could feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor—another key upgrade for photography enthusiasts. Improvements in the device’s build quality are also expected, including a full-level water resistance rating for better protection.
Battery performance appears to be one of the biggest highlights of the Honor GT 2 series, considering the significant jump from the 5300mAh battery found in the current Honor GT model. The existing Honor GT already supports up to 100W fast charging, so buyers can anticipate fast replenishment speeds even with an upgraded battery capacity. The upcoming lineup will likely include both the Honor GT 2 and a more advanced Honor GT 2 Pro variant, mirroring the naming strategy used with previous models.
The current Honor GT is built with a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display and runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, along with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB internal storage options. It includes a dual rear camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel macro unit, accompanied by a 16-megapixel selfie camera. Meanwhile, the Honor GT Pro sports a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED screen, Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, triple 50-megapixel camera system, and a highly durable IP68 + IP69 water and dust resistance rating. It also carries an impressive 7200mAh battery with 90W wired charging support.
With substantial improvements in processing power, battery capacity, and durability, the Honor GT 2 series is shaping up to be a strong competitor in the flagship smartphone category once it officially debuts later this year.
