The upcoming Honor Magic V Flip 2 is poised to make waves in the foldable smartphone market, as new leaks suggest that the device could debut with the largest battery ever seen in a clamshell-style foldable phone. Building on the success of its predecessor, the Honor Magic V Flip, the new model is rumored to feature a massive 5500mAh battery and 80W wired fast charging, marking a significant upgrade over the previous generation’s 4800mAh battery with 66W support.
Expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, the Magic V Flip 2 aims to combine performance with endurance. A tipster recently revealed the new battery specs via a post on Chinese social media platform Weibo, highlighting Honor’s push to deliver both power and portability in one elegant flip form.
If true, this would make the Magic V Flip 2 the clamshell foldable phone with the largest battery capacity to date, outclassing rivals like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, which houses a 4300mAh battery with 25W charging. In contrast, Honor’s upcoming device could redefine expectations around battery life and charging speeds in compact foldable devices.
Leaks also suggest the handset will feature a 6.8-inch Full-HD+ LTPO inner screen along with a 4-inch full-HD+ LTPO external display, ideal for notifications and quick interactions. On the camera front, it is said to sport a dual rear camera setup, headlined by a 50-megapixel 1/1.5-inch main sensor. The front camera will likely also feature a 50MP lens, continuing the brand’s focus on high-quality selfies and video calls.
The first-gen Honor Magic V Flip launched with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and debuted at a starting price of CNY 4,999 (around Rs. 57,000) in China.
