A new smartphone from Honor could soon join the company’s popular X-series lineup. The upcoming device, expected to be called the Honor X80i, has reportedly appeared on China’s TENAA certification platform, revealing several key specifications ahead of its official announcement. While the brand has not yet confirmed the handset, the listing suggests that the launch may take place in the near future.
According to the regulatory database, the alleged Honor X80i carries the model number LNA-AN00. The smartphone is listed with a 6.6-inch OLED display offering a resolution of 1,200 × 2,600 pixels, indicating a sharp and vibrant viewing experience for everyday use, video streaming, and gaming.
The listing also reveals that the device could be powered by an octa-core processor with a clock speed of up to 2.6GHz. Although the exact chipset name has not been disclosed yet, the hardware is expected to deliver improved performance compared to its predecessor, the Honor X70i.
In terms of memory and storage, the upcoming handset may offer several configurations. The TENAA entry suggests the phone could arrive with 6GB, 8GB, 12GB, and 16GB RAM options. Storage variants may include 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and even a high-capacity 1TB model, giving users plenty of flexibility depending on their needs.
For photography, the smartphone is expected to feature a dual-camera setup on the rear panel. The primary camera is listed as a 50-megapixel sensor, which could provide detailed photos in various lighting conditions. On the front, the device may include an 8-megapixel camera designed for selfies and video calls.
Battery life appears to be one of the standout features of the upcoming model. The listing shows a rated battery capacity of 6,800mAh, which could be marketed as a 7,000mAh battery when officially announced. This large battery could allow extended usage for streaming, browsing, and gaming without frequent charging.
Additional features mentioned in the certification include several onboard sensors such as a gravity sensor, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor. The phone is also expected to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner for security, along with support for face unlock. There are indications that the device could include an infrared blaster as well.
The TENAA database also provides physical dimensions of the handset. The device reportedly measures 157.43 × 75.35 × 7.34mm and weighs around 185 grams, suggesting a relatively slim design despite the large battery.
If launched, the new model will likely succeed the Honor X70i that debuted in China in April last year. The previous generation smartphone features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display and runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra chipset. It also offers a 108-megapixel rear camera and a 6,000mAh battery.
With improved battery capacity and upgraded hardware expected, the Honor X80i could become a strong option in the mid-range smartphone market once it is officially unveiled.
