Huawei has officially offered a first look at the global version of the Mate 80 Pro ahead of its international launch event scheduled for February 26 in Madrid. The premium smartphone first debuted in China in November 2025 and is now gearing up for a wider worldwide rollout as part of Huawei’s upcoming product showcase.
The newly shared visuals confirm that the global Huawei Mate 80 Pro will retain the same bold aesthetic seen in the Chinese variant. The smartphone features Huawei’s signature Dual Space Ring design on the rear, highlighted by a large circular camera module with XMAGE branding. A secondary subtle circular element sits beneath the main camera housing, adding depth to the overall look. The device has been teased in an elegant champagne gold shade, known as Dawn Gold in China.
From the front, the Mate 80 Pro offers a near edge-to-edge display with ultra-slim bezels and a pill-shaped cutout accommodating the selfie camera and advanced sensors. The handset is expected to deliver the same premium durability globally, with IP68 and IP69-rated resistance against dust and water.
In terms of specifications, the Huawei Mate 80 Pro is powered by the Kirin 9030 Pro chipset and runs on HarmonyOS 6.0. It features a 6.75-inch LTPO AMOLED display protected by second-generation Kunlun Glass. The phone packs a 5,500mAh battery supporting 100W wired fast charging, 80W wireless fast charging, and reverse wired charging.
Photography remains a major focus, with a quad-camera system that includes a 50-megapixel RYYB main sensor with variable aperture, a 40-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 48-megapixel macro telephoto lens, and a second-generation Red Maple colour sensor. On the front, users get a 13-megapixel selfie camera paired with a 3D depth-sensing system for secure face recognition.
Huawei’s Madrid launch event will not be limited to smartphones. The company is also expected to unveil new products including the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 with enhanced golf features, the Watch GT Runner 2 developed with elite athletes, FreeBuds Pro 5 earbuds, Band 11 wearables, and the MatePad Mini tablet.
