Huawei has officially confirmed the launch date for its much-anticipated Nova 14 series smartphones in China. Scheduled for release on May 19 at 2:30pm local time (4:30pm IST), the upcoming lineup is expected to feature three models — the standard Huawei Nova 14, the Nova 14 Pro, and a newly introduced Nova 14 Ultra variant. These smartphones will debut as successors to last year’s Nova 13 and Nova 13 Pro and are expected to deliver upgraded performance and camera capabilities.
The company has already begun teasing the Huawei Nova 14 series on its official Chinese website and Vmall. One of the major highlights is the introduction of the Nova 14 Ultra, which boasts a premium golden color finish and a distinct textured back panel. The Ultra model appears to have a unique pill-shaped rear camera setup featuring a smaller circular section with multiple sensors and an LED flash.
All three smartphones in the Nova 14 series will run on the latest HarmonyOS 5 operating system. According to recent leaks from Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, these phones are expected to be powered by Huawei’s in-house Kirin 9-series chipsets. Additionally, they are rumored to come with a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, suggesting an enhanced photography experience.
In terms of storage, the Huawei Nova 14 and Nova 14 Pro are likely to be offered in 256GB and 512GB variants, each paired with 12GB RAM. The top-tier Nova 14 Ultra may arrive in configurations of 12GB RAM combined with 256GB, 512GB, and even 1TB of storage.
For context, Huawei had previously launched the Nova 13 and Nova 13 Pro in October 2024. These models featured Kirin 8000 processors, 5,000mAh batteries with 100W wired fast charging, triple rear cameras with a 50-megapixel main sensor, and a 60-megapixel front camera. The upcoming Nova 14 series is expected to build on these features, offering improved performance, display enhancements, and refined imaging capabilities.
