Huawei Unveils Mate X7 With 8-Inch Foldable Display and HarmonyOS 6 in China

Date:

Huawei has officially launched the Mate X7 in China, introducing a new generation of book-style foldable phones with upgraded AI features, refined design, and improved durability. As the successor to the Mate X6, the Mate X7 brings a large 8-inch 2K LTPO OLED inner display that reaches up to 2,500 nits brightness, along with a quad-curved 6.49-inch cover screen for smoother usability when folded.

The device is powered by Huawei’s in-house Kirin 9030 Pro chipset and comes in multiple RAM and storage options, including ultra-premium configurations reaching up to 20GB RAM and 1TB storage in the Collector’s Edition. It runs on HarmonyOS 6, Huawei’s Android-independent operating system designed for a more seamless ecosystem experience.

Huawei has equipped the Mate X7 with a powerful triple rear camera system led by a 50MP variable-aperture main sensor with OIS. This is paired with a 40MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP telephoto shooter offering 3.5x optical and up to 100x digital zoom. Both the inner and outer displays house 8MP selfie cameras for flexible shooting.

On the durability front, the foldable features IP58 + IP59 dust and splash resistance and a lightweight design measuring 235g–236g, depending on the edition. The Mate X7 comes with a long-lasting battery—5,600mAh on the standard model and 5,525mAh on the Collector’s Edition—with support for 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Pricing for the Mate X7 starts at CNY 12,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model. Higher storage options and Collector’s Edition variants extend up to CNY 17,599. A professional photography kit is also available separately for users seeking advanced mobile imaging capabilities.
