Jack Grealish Shines for Everton With Two Assists and Honest Reflection on Manchester City Exit

Date:

England winger Jack Grealish is beginning to rediscover his best form after making an impact for Everton in their 2-0 victory over Brighton on Sunday. The 29-year-old, who joined the Toffees on loan after struggling for regular minutes under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, produced two crucial assists and looked like a player rejuvenated.

Following the match, Grealish revealed that the move was about enjoying football again. “The most important thing was to enjoy playing every day. Over the last couple of years, I didn’t fall out of love with the game, but I wasn’t enjoying it as much as I should. Today I had that feeling back,” he said.

Reflecting on his four years at Manchester City, Grealish was grateful for the trophies and memories but admitted he needed a fresh start. “I absolutely loved my time at City. We won so much together. But this summer, after speaking with David Moyes, I knew Everton was where I wanted to be.”

Manager David Moyes praised Grealish’s hunger and determination. “He didn’t look for an early rest, he fought hard and wanted to prove himself. He has something to prove, and sometimes that challenge brings out the best in a player,” said the Everton boss.

With this performance, Grealish looks set for a big season at Goodison Park, where Everton fans will hope he can continue delivering moments of quality and leadership.
