In the wake of the controversy, South Korean media sought answers from Gold Medalist, the agency representing Hyun Wook, as well as his Twinkling Watermelon co-star Seol In Ah and Queen of Tears actor Kim Soo Hyun. The agency responded briefly, stating, “We have no comments to give at this point.”
Despite Hyun Wook’s efforts to erase the potentially embarrassing mistake, the internet quickly spread the story. Many netizens circulated screenshots of the deleted post, with some zooming in on the accidental reflection. This action, however, sparked backlash from others who found the behavior disturbing and intrusive.
Netizens React to Choi Hyun Wook’s Social Media Incident A K-drama fan posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Choi Hyun Wook is only 22 and he has not been problematic so mocking and spreading a clearer version of his mistake is really inappropriate.” Another user remarked on the nature of the internet, saying, “Once something is online, it stays there. There is no way to undo it and it’s unrealistic to expect the internet to show compassion or respect, especially in cases like this.”
