According to Marca, Messi’s potential new contract will allow him to temporarily return to European football in late 2025 or early 2026. This opportunity could pave the way for an emotional reunion with his former club Barcelona, a place Messi holds dear to his heart. The 37-year-old remains committed to representing Argentina in the 2026 World Cup and is keen to maintain top form for the tournament.
In preparation for the upcoming season, Inter Miami has announced a five-match preseason tour across South America and Central America. The tour kicks off on January 18 with a match against Club América of Mexico at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The team will then face Club Universitario de Deportes in Lima, Peru, on January 29, followed by Sporting San Miguelito in Panama City on February 2, Club Deportivo Olimpia in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, on February 8, and Orlando City in Tampa on February 14.
Inter Miami’s president of football operations, Raul Sanllehi, expressed enthusiasm about the tour, stating that the fixtures will prepare the team for an intense 2025 campaign. With competitions such as the FIFA Club World Cup, CONCACAF Champions Cup, Leagues Cup, and MLS ahead, the preseason tour aims to set the stage for a successful year.
