Luke Evans Envisions Parenthood with Fran Tomas and Embraces Family Plans for the Future

Date:

Luke Evans is opening up about his aspirations for fatherhood, revealing in his latest memoir Boy from the Valleys: My Unexpected Journey that he hopes to become a parent within the next five years. The memoir, which hit shelves in the U.S. on April 22, provides a heartfelt look into Evans’ personal journey and his evolving vision of family life with his partner, Spanish architect Fran Tomas.

The Beauty and the Beast actor shared that becoming a father has always been a dream of his, and now, with a stable relationship and clearer sense of purpose, he feels ready to take the next steps. “I do want to have children, and hope I’m able to do so in the next five years, whether that’s through adoption or surrogacy,” Evans wrote in the memoir.

Evans, 46, detailed his ongoing conversations with Tomas about their future. “I can certainly see myself becoming a parent,” he expressed. Although timing previously held him back, Evans explained that he now feels prepared to slow down and make room for this new chapter. “I’ve realized now that I needed to find my feet and have my own journey before I could slow down and make changes in my life in order to focus on children,” he added.

While the couple hasn’t yet taken the leap into parenthood, they are already nurturing their family dynamic in other ways. Evans shared that they recently welcomed a pet dog into their lives—a small, adorable dachshund named Lala. He posted a photo of the pup snuggled on his chest with the caption “Mine” and has since shared glimpses of her playful personality through videos and affectionate captions like “Velvet ears black boop nap champion.”

The relationship between Evans and Tomas continues to blossom. In an interview with Out magazine in late 2024, Evans described their bond as one built on shared goals and emotional support. “He’s the calm deep waters and I am the rushing bubbly water,” Evans said while praising Tomas as his best friend and emotional anchor.

Publicly confirming their relationship at a gala in December 2022, the duo has remained open about their life together. In addition to their personal connection, they also co-manage a lifestyle brand named BDXY, reflecting their shared vision for both business and family.
