Motorola rolls out Android 17 beta programme across India US and more regions

Date:

Motorola has officially confirmed the launch of its Android 17 beta testing programme for select smartphones in India the United States Europe and the Middle East and Africa regions. The announcement follows Google’s initial rollout of Android 17 Beta 1 to supported Pixel devices and signals the beginning of wider third-party manufacturer participation.

Google recently opened Android 17 Beta 1 access to compatible Pixel smartphones and tablets including the latest Pixel series. The company has cautioned users that beta software may include bugs stability issues and performance inconsistencies that could affect everyday usage.

Motorola has now invited eligible users to register for the Android 17 beta build on supported models. In the US owners of the Moto Edge 2025 can enrol for a chance to test the new operating system. However the company clarified that not all applicants will be selected and confirmed users will be notified once the beta becomes available to them.

In India Moto G57 Power users have also been encouraged to sign up for the preview programme ahead of a broader public rollout. Meanwhile customers using Moto G57 and Moto G57 Power devices in EMEA markets can register their interest in participating in the early access testing phase.

As with most beta programmes users should note that downgrading from a beta build to a stable public version may require a full data wipe on supported devices. Google has highlighted that future beta updates may contain errors or unfinished features until the final release is ready.

The stable version of Android 17 is expected to prioritise performance optimisation smoother system animations and improved task management. Google has also indicated enhancements in power efficiency and more transparent permission controls giving users better visibility into how apps access sensitive information. Subtle refinements to the quick settings interface are also anticipated as part of the broader user experience improvements.

With Motorola joining the Android 17 beta wave users in multiple regions now have the opportunity to experience upcoming features ahead of the official stable launch while contributing feedback to improve overall system stability.
