With a new film set to hit theatres soon Mrunal Thakur found herself at the centre of intense online chatter over the past few weeks. Social media was flooded with speculation claiming that the actor was about to tie the knot with Tamil star Dhanush on Valentine’s Day. The date came and went but the rumours clearly did not dampen Mrunal’s mood.
Speaking candidly the actor shared that she found the entire situation amusing rather than stressful. She admitted that she laughed when she first heard about the wedding claims and chose not to let the gossip distract her from her work. According to Mrunal the attention was so widespread that it ended up becoming a strange form of publicity she had never experienced before.
Mrunal also opened up about conversations at home regarding marriage. Like many families her own does encourage her to settle down but she explained that they understand the demanding nature of her profession. Balancing projects across Hindi and South cinema leaves little room for a conventional personal life and she compared an actor’s routine to that of a sanyasi requiring discipline sacrifice and complete focus.
Addressing the rumours directly Mrunal said she does not feel annoyed or pressured by public curiosity about her personal life. She believes that if there were ever something real to share she would do so openly. Instead of investing her energy in speculation she prefers to channel it into her craft and upcoming films.
She added with a smile that no amount of planned promotion could have generated the level of buzz these false reports did. For now Mrunal says her only constant companion is her camera and her priority remains her career.
On the work front the actor will next be seen in the romantic drama Do Deewane Seher Mein opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi. The film directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 20.
