Netflix Confirms Dorohedoro Season 2 Release for Spring 2026 After Six-Year Gap

Date:

After years of anticipation, Netflix has officially confirmed that Dorohedoro Season 2 will premiere globally in Spring 2026, marking a long-awaited return for fans of the gritty dark fantasy anime. The series, which first captivated audiences in 2020, has been one of the most requested anime renewals on the platform.

According to reports, the second installment will be released exclusively as a streaming-only series, skipping a traditional television broadcast. The official Dorohedoro website and X (formerly Twitter) account shared a new teaser visual to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the first season’s release, promising fans that the anime will be available “almost simultaneously worldwide.”

The original series, directed by Yuichiro Hayashi and based on Q Hayashida’s manga, follows Caiman, an amnesiac man with a reptilian head, and his companion Nikaido as they battle sorcerers in a grim city called Hole. The brutal and bizarre world-building of Dorohedoro has earned it a cult following for its unique blend of horror, mystery, and dark humor.

Season 1 debuted in 2020, and although a 2025 release was initially planned, production delays pushed it to 2026. Despite the extended wait, excitement remains high among anime enthusiasts eager to see where the story continues. The announcement has ignited a wave of nostalgia and renewed fan discussions about the upcoming season’s direction and possible character developments.

The official confirmation marks a major moment for anime fans worldwide, as Dorohedoro stands among Netflix’s most original and genre-defying titles.
