Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 GPU Unveiled for Desktops and Gaming Laptops With 8GB VRAM and Blackwell CUDA Cores

Date:

Nvidia has officially revealed its latest entry-level graphics card in the RTX 50 series — the GeForce RTX 5050 — designed for both desktop computers and gaming laptops. This new GPU arrives as the direct successor to the GeForce RTX 3050 and brings significant performance upgrades at an accessible price point.

Built with Nvidia’s advanced Blackwell CUDA architecture, the GeForce RTX 5050 comes equipped with 2,560 CUDA cores and 8GB of video memory. For laptop configurations, it uses GDDR7 VRAM to enhance power efficiency, while the desktop variant includes GDDR6 memory. The card also supports cutting-edge gaming technologies such as fourth-generation ray tracing cores, fifth-generation Tensor cores, and the latest DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation (MFG) for improved frame rates and image quality.

The desktop version of the GeForce RTX 5050 is rated for a peak clock speed of 2.57GHz and a TDP of 130W at stock speeds. According to Nvidia, this entry-level RTX 50 card offers up to 60 percent better performance than its predecessor, the RTX 3050. It’s designed to handle popular ray-traced titles with ease and supports Nvidia Reflex for ultra-low latency gameplay.

In terms of connectivity, the RTX 5050 GPU for desktops includes one HDMI 2.1b port and three DisplayPort 2.1b ports, allowing multiple high-resolution monitor setups for immersive gaming or content creation. Nvidia claims the card can reach up to 440 trillion operations per second (TOPS) for on-device AI tasks, positioning it as a solid option for gamers looking to tap into AI-enhanced features.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 will be offered through major OEM partners including Asus MSI Gigabyte Zotac Palit PNY Gainward Colorful Galaxy and Inno3D. Pricing for the desktop version starts at $249 (around Rs. 21,400) and will be available from the second half of July. Gaming laptops powered by the new RTX 5050 GPU are already available in India, with prices beginning at $999 (approximately Rs. 85,900). Asus has been among the first brands to roll out gaming laptops featuring this new GPU in the Indian market.

Whether you’re building a budget-friendly gaming PC or looking for a capable GPU in a gaming laptop, the new GeForce RTX 5050 aims to deliver solid performance for the next generation of mainstream gamers.
