Oppo has officially unveiled ColorOS 16, its latest software update based on Android 16, set to debut with the Oppo Find X9 series in India and other global markets. The update introduces a redesigned user interface, upgraded system apps, new animations, and enhanced AI features for photography, delivering a smoother and more responsive smartphone experience.
ColorOS 16 brings a host of new personalization options, including the Flux Home Screen, interactive widgets, and the ability to set motion photos or videos as wallpapers. Users can also resize app icons and folders into multiple shapes and choose from a wide range of fonts, with AI automatically suggesting matching text styles based on wallpapers.
Photography improvements include the AI Portrait Glow feature, which intelligently adjusts lighting and skin tones in low-light conditions for studio-like portrait results. Other AI tools include AI Eraser, AI Unblur, and AI Reflection Remover, while the upgraded Master Cut video editor allows trimming, speed control, music integration, cropping, filters, and manual adjustments for brightness, contrast, and saturation.
Performance enhancements come from Project Breeze, designed to make the system more responsive, while the Luminous Rendering Engine ensures smooth animations and the Trinity Engine boosts gaming performance. Additionally, the O+ Connect suite now supports macOS and Windows, and the Screen Mirroring feature allows users to control up to five phone apps on a PC using a mouse and keyboard.
The Oppo Find X9 series, launching alongside ColorOS 16 in India, promises to showcase the new software’s full potential, combining innovative AI photography, seamless performance, and a customizable user experience. Eligible Oppo devices will receive the update in the coming months, making ColorOS 16 a significant upgrade for Oppo smartphone users.
