Raphinha Scores Hat Trick as Barcelona Cruise Past Sevilla to Stay Top of La Liga

Date:

League leaders FC Barcelona delivered a dominant performance with a 5-2 victory over Sevilla FC, powered by a brilliant hat trick from Raphinha. The result helped Barcelona maintain their lead at the top of La Liga after Real Madrid had earlier reduced the gap with a win.

Barcelona started strongly and took control of the match early with two penalties converted by Raphinha. The Brazilian winger showed composure from the spot on both occasions to give his side a comfortable advantage within the opening stages of the game.

The home side continued their attacking momentum as Dani Olmo added a third goal before halftime with a clinical finish following a deflected cross. Sevilla managed to respond before the break, pulling one goal back through a well worked attacking move.

In the second half Raphinha completed his hat trick with a deflected effort, further extending Barcelona’s dominance. Joao Cancelo also found the net with an impressive solo run and finish, capping off a strong individual display.

Sevilla managed to score again late in the match but it had little impact on the outcome as Barcelona comfortably secured all three points. The win ensures the Catalan side stays ahead in the title race.

The match also saw the return of Gavi, who made his first appearance in several months after recovering from a serious knee injury. Meanwhile coach Hansi Flick rotated his squad ahead of an important upcoming European fixture.

Barcelona will now turn their focus to their next challenge against Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League, following a draw in the first leg.
