Reacher Season 4 Starts Filming With Major Cast Shakeup as Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette Replaces Jay Baruchel

Date:

Prime Video’s popular action series Reacher has officially kicked off production for its highly awaited fourth season, but not without a surprising cast change. In an unexpected move, Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette is stepping in to replace Jay Baruchel, who has exited the show for personal reasons according to Deadline reports.

The new season of Reacher draws from Lee Child’s 13th Jack Reacher novel, Gone Tomorrow, and follows the wandering ex-military policeman Jack Reacher, played once again by Alan Ritchson. This time, Reacher finds himself caught in a lethal conspiracy after a chilling encounter on a train throws him into another high-stakes mission filled with danger and deception.

Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette takes over the role of Jacob Merrick, a small-town cop who becomes central to the upcoming storyline. Marquette, recognized for his standout role in HBO’s Barry as Chris Lucado, brings fresh energy to the series just weeks after Baruchel’s involvement was first announced.

Season 4 expands its cast even further with several new additions. Sydelle Noel (GLOW) joins as Detective Tamara Green from Philadelphia PD, while Agnez Mo and Anggun portray Lila Hoth and Amisha Hoth respectively. Kevin Corrigan appears as Detective Docherty, Detective Green’s partner.

The fresh ensemble also welcomes Kevin Weisman (Suits: LA) as investigative reporter Russell Plum, Marc Blucas (My Life with the Walter Boys) as U.S. Congressman John Samson, and Kathleen Robertson (The Expanse) as Elsbeth Samson, bringing added depth to the political tension at the heart of the new season’s plot.

This chapter adapts Gone Tomorrow, promising a riveting narrative as Reacher becomes entangled in a web of secrets and enemies more powerful than ever before. The story kicks off with a tense train encounter that unravels into a larger conspiracy, testing Reacher’s instincts and resilience to the limit.

Following the huge success of Season 3, which premiered in February 2025 and became Prime Video’s most-watched returning series of the year, Season 4 is expected to deliver more of the gripping action and suspense fans love—only now with a reshuffled cast and new twists waiting around every corner.
