Realme may soon expand its smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the upcoming Realme 16x. The device has reportedly appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards certification platform, hinting that its official debut in the Indian market could happen in the near future.
According to recent reports, a new Realme handset carrying the model number RMX5270 was spotted on the BIS database on May 6. While the listing does not reveal detailed specifications, industry sources believe the device is likely to launch as the Realme 16x, becoming the successor to the previously released Realme 15x.
The upcoming smartphone is expected to join the existing Realme 16 series lineup, which already includes multiple variants aimed at different user segments. Early leaks suggest that the Realme 16x could arrive in India in stylish color options such as Endurance Brown and Glory White.
In terms of storage and memory configurations, the smartphone is rumored to launch in three variants. These may include 4GB RAM with 128GB storage, 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, and a higher-end 6GB RAM with 256GB internal storage option.
The Realme 16x is anticipated to build upon the features of its predecessor, the Realme 15x 5G, which launched in India with a MediaTek Dimensity chipset, a high-refresh-rate display, large battery capacity, and fast charging support. The previous generation device also featured a dual rear camera setup and water resistance capabilities.
Although Realme has not officially confirmed the launch timeline or specifications, the BIS certification strongly indicates that the smartphone is progressing toward an India release. More details regarding pricing, hardware features, camera setup, and launch date are expected to surface in the coming weeks.
