Realme has officially confirmed that the Neo 8 will be launched in China on January 12 at 2:30pm local time (12pm IST). The new smartphone succeeds the Realme Neo 7 which debuted in December 2024. The device is expected to feature a premium display sourced from Samsung Display, supporting up to a 165Hz refresh rate, promising smooth visuals for gaming and multimedia.
The Neo 8 will be offered in a striking Cyber Purple colourway and is teased to have a transparent rear panel revealing some internal components, reminiscent of the design approach used by Nothing phones. It will also include Realme’s signature Awakening Halo lighting around the camera island. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, offering high-end performance similar to the OnePlus 15R and Motorola Signature models. Realme claims the Neo 8 has achieved 3.58 million points on AnTuTu benchmarks, close to the 3.9 million scored by the Realme GT 8 Pro flagship.
For photography enthusiasts, the Neo 8 will feature a triple rear camera setup, including a periscope telephoto lens capable of 120x zoom. While Realme has confirmed the China launch, availability in India or other international markets has not been announced. Rumors indicate that it may debut in India under the Realme GT 8 branding, positioned below the GT 8 Pro in the company’s flagship lineup.
