Red Magic 11 Air Set for January Launch With Full-Screen Display and Advanced Cooling

Date:

Red Magic has officially confirmed the launch of its next gaming-focused smartphone, the Red Magic 11 Air, which is scheduled to debut in China on January 20. The device marks a clear evolution of the Air series, shifting from a purely slim design philosophy to a more balanced approach that combines high-end gaming performance with a sleek and lightweight body.

One of the standout features of the Red Magic 11 Air is its true full-screen display, made possible by a 16-megapixel under-display selfie camera. This design removes visible notches or punch holes, delivering an uninterrupted viewing experience that is especially appealing to gamers and multimedia users. The phone is also expected to feature a transparent rear panel across all variants, highlighting its gaming-centric identity and internal design aesthetics.

To handle sustained performance during long gaming sessions, the Red Magic 11 Air comes equipped with a sophisticated thermal management system. This includes an internal high-speed cooling fan paired with a thick 4D Ice-Step vapour chamber, designed to efficiently dissipate heat and maintain stable frame rates. Alongside this hardware, the device integrates Red Magic’s Cube gaming engine, a dedicated Red Core R4 esports chip, and a built-in PC emulator to further enhance gaming optimisation and responsiveness.

Despite packing advanced cooling components and gaming hardware, the smartphone maintains a slim profile at just 7.85mm thick. Nubia has also revealed that the handset will house the largest battery ever used in a Red Magic Air-series phone, with certification listings suggesting a rated capacity of 6,780mAh, which is likely to be marketed as approximately 7,000mAh for consumers.

Early certification and benchmark listings provide insight into the expected specifications. The Red Magic 11 Air is tipped to feature a 6.85-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1216 x 2688 pixels and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Camera hardware is expected to include a 50-megapixel primary rear sensor supported by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. Memory configurations may scale up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage, with the base variant likely starting at 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Performance benchmarks suggest that the Red Magic 11 Air could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, offering a notable upgrade over its predecessor. Test results indicate strong single-core and multi-core scores, pointing to flagship-level performance suitable for competitive gaming and demanding applications. If confirmed, this would firmly position the Red Magic 11 Air as a thin yet powerful gaming smartphone designed for enthusiasts who want top-tier performance without excessive bulk.
