Redmi is preparing to launch a powerful new 5G smartphone in India equipped with a high-capacity battery and modern features as part of its 11th anniversary celebrations in the country. While the brand hasn’t confirmed the name officially yet, strong speculations suggest the upcoming model could be the Redmi 15 5G alongside a possible Redmi 15C variant.
The company has teased the launch of two new smartphones, and one of them appears to boast a significantly large battery. A teaser on the Xiaomi India website promotes a “power revolution,” pointing towards the launch of a phone with a robust battery backup. Though the exact battery size hasn’t been officially shared, leaks hint at a massive 7,000mAh unit with 33W fast charging support.
The side profile of the upcoming smartphone was recently revealed in an official teaser, showing a dual-camera setup and side-mounted volume and power buttons. According to a tip by tech insider Sudhanshu Ambhore, this model is likely the Redmi 15 5G, expected to come powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor, and run on Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0.
Retail leaks suggest the phone may feature 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, IP64-rated splash and dust resistance, and a 6.9-inch full-HD+ LCD display with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Camera-wise, the device may offer a 50MP dual rear camera setup, including a 2MP depth or macro sensor, while the front may house an 8MP selfie camera.
Meanwhile, a separate Amazon microsite for the smartphone confirms its upcoming availability on the platform, reinforcing the phone’s India-first launch strategy.
The Redmi 15C variant, as per previous reports, may feature a 6,000mAh battery and a similar 50MP dual rear camera configuration. Both models are expected to be revealed before July 24, with more detailed specifications likely to be released in the coming days.
