Redmi is reportedly preparing to expand its K90 lineup with the upcoming Redmi K90 Ultra, and new leaks suggest it could set a new benchmark in smartphone battery capacity. According to industry tipsters, the device may feature an enormous 10000mAh battery packed into a remarkably slim 8.5mm chassis, making it one of the slimmest phones to house such a large power unit.
If the rumours are accurate, the Redmi K90 Ultra would be a major leap over its predecessor, the Redmi K80 Ultra, which launched earlier with a 7410mAh battery. The upcoming model is also expected to outperform the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max, both introduced in October with smaller battery capacities. Despite the larger battery, Redmi is said to retain a lightweight and sleek design, highlighting advancements in battery technology and internal engineering.
Leaks further indicate that the Redmi K90 Ultra could support 100W wired fast charging, ensuring quick top-ups even with the massive battery. In addition, it is tipped to offer full-speed wireless charging, potentially exceeding the wireless charging capabilities seen on other K90-series models.
On the display front, the handset is rumoured to feature a large LTPS OLED screen measuring between 6.8 and 6.9 inches. The panel could support a 1.5K resolution along with a smooth 165Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for gaming and multimedia consumption. Reports also suggest a premium build with rounded edges and a metal middle frame, giving the phone a refined flagship feel.
While Redmi has not officially confirmed these specifications, the leaked details point towards a powerful Ultra variant that focuses on long battery life, fast charging, and high-end display performance. More concrete information is expected as the China launch draws closer.
