Although Pakistan lost momentum in the closing overs and slipped from a potential 240-plus total to 212 for 8 the score still provided a strong platform in a game defined by qualification scenarios. With their net run rate in focus Pakistan now require a substantial defensive effort to secure a place in the semi-finals.
