Samsung has reportedly started internal testing of the One UI 8.5 update on the Galaxy S24+, bringing a refreshed interface and new features for Galaxy users. The update, based on Android 16, is said to enhance the Phone app, Studio app, Device Care, and the overall user experience across select Galaxy devices.
According to reports, the test build for the international Galaxy S24+ (model SM-S926B) has been spotted on Samsung’s internal servers. The firmware versions identified include S926BXXU9DYIA, S926BOXM9DYIA, confirming active development ahead of a potential public release. The discovery follows similar sightings of One UI 8.5 builds for the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold 7, highlighting Samsung’s focus on next-generation updates.
Among the anticipated changes, the Phone app is expected to feature a pill-shaped navigation tab design for Dialer, Call Logs, and Contacts, and a new Direct Voicemail function offering live transcription of recorded messages. The Studio app may gain a redesigned navigation bar and a Stories tab, complementing existing Pictures, Albums, and Search options. Additional improvements include a refreshed Device Care UI, a new Galaxy Store splash screen, and an updated app launcher, enhancing usability and visual appeal.
