Samsung has officially clarified its Galaxy AI roadmap by confirming that its essential AI-powered features will remain free to use permanently on supported devices. This updated position replaces Samsung’s earlier language, which mentioned that Galaxy AI features were complimentary only through 2025. The revised clarification removes any defined end date, confirming that users will not be charged for essential Galaxy AI capabilities going forward.
The company defines “basic Galaxy AI features” under the Advanced Intelligence section of Samsung’s Services Terms and Conditions. These include widely used tools such as Call Assist for real-time call translation and summaries, Writing Assist for text refinement and tone adjustments, Photo Assist for AI-based image editing, Interpreter for live translations, and Note Assist for organizing and summarizing notes. Additional features include Transcript Assist, Browsing Assist, Drawing Assist, Audio Eraser, Health Assist, Now Brief, Photo Ambient, and Bixby-powered AI functions.
While these tools remain free, Samsung notes that some Galaxy AI features may require users to sign in with a Samsung account to function properly. This allows for personalization, syncing, and improved AI performance across devices.
