Tech giant Samsung is preparing to introduce its new budget smartphone Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G in the Indian market. Ahead of the official launch scheduled for March 17 several details about the device including its expected price specifications and features have surfaced online.
According to recent leaks the upcoming smartphone could debut in India with a starting price of around Rs 13999 making it a competitive option in the budget 5G segment. Reports suggest that more details about possible RAM and storage variants may be revealed during the official launch event.
The company has already confirmed that the handset will arrive in two colour options Blitz Blue and Vibe Violet. The smartphone will also be available for purchase through Amazon where a dedicated product page has already been created ahead of the launch.
In terms of display the Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G will feature a large 6.7 inch HD plus screen offering a smooth 120Hz refresh rate designed to provide better scrolling and gaming performance. Powering the device will be the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor along with an ARM Mali G57 GPU to handle graphics tasks.
The smartphone will run on Android 16 based One UI. Samsung has also promised long term support for the device including six generations of Android operating system upgrades and six years of security updates which is uncommon in this price category.
The device will also include several modern AI driven features such as Google Gemini integration Circle to Search and smart notification tools.
For photography the phone will include a 50 megapixel primary rear camera supported by a 2 megapixel depth sensor while the front will feature an 8 megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
Another highlight of the smartphone is its massive 6000mAh battery which Samsung claims can deliver up to 26 hours of video playback making it one of the longest lasting batteries in the sub Rs 14000 smartphone segment.
The Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G will have a slim 8.2mm body and will feature a durable Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer back panel. Additionally the device will carry an IP54 rating offering protection against dust and light water splashes.
With its large display long battery life AI features and extended software support the Galaxy M17e 5G is expected to attract users looking for a feature packed yet affordable 5G smartphone in India.
