Samsung is preparing to launch a Special Edition Galaxy Z Fold 7 in China on October 11 at 4pm local time. This upcoming foldable model is expected to bring subtle improvements over the standard Galaxy Z Fold 7 while maintaining the flagship’s signature design and cutting-edge technology.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 Special Edition, reportedly codenamed W26, will feature a foldable book-style design and is teased in black and red with a gold frame. While the specifications are mostly under wraps, early reports suggest a slimmer profile, slightly enhanced cameras, and potentially larger internal and external displays compared to the standard Z Fold 7.
Internally, the Special Edition is expected to retain the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, offer up to 16GB RAM, and storage up to 1TB, running One UI 8.0 based on Android 16. Samsung previously released a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition in China with improved camera systems and display features, hinting at similar enhancements for this year’s iteration.
The Special Edition is anticipated to be a China-exclusive launch, with limited units available, following Samsung’s strategy for previous special editions. Alongside this launch, Samsung is reportedly preparing a tri-fold smartphone, potentially to be unveiled at the APEC summit in Gyeongju, South Korea, from October 31 to November 1.
Fans in China and tech enthusiasts globally can look forward to a refined foldable smartphone experience, combining the flexibility of the Z Fold 7 with premium upgrades and stylish aesthetics in a limited edition design.
