Samsung’s upcoming foldable phone, reportedly named the W26, has appeared on China’s 3C certification platform, revealing key details about its charging capabilities. Carrying the model number SM-W9026, the W26 is expected to be the successor to last year’s Samsung W25, which served as the China-specific version of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. Early information suggests the W26 will support wired charging at 25 watts, matching the speed offered by its predecessor.
The 3C listing confirms compatibility with the EP-TA800 charger, which supports 25W wired charging. However, it appears the device may not include a charger in the retail box, following the current trend in premium smartphones. The listing also hints at satellite connectivity features on the W26.
Last year’s Samsung W25 debuted in China as a thinner and lighter counterpart to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, featuring an 8-inch internal foldable display and a 6.5-inch external screen. The device was powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset and equipped with a 200-megapixel primary camera. It weighed 236 grams and measured 10.6mm in thickness when folded. The W25 launched with a starting price of around CNY 15,999 for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition lineup is known for combining high-end hardware with a sleek foldable design. As the W26 prepares for launch, it is expected to continue this tradition with updates on performance and features. Meanwhile, Samsung is gearing up to announce the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 models, expected to feature similar 25W charging speeds and advanced specifications.
