Sony has officially unveiled the WH-1000XM6 wireless active noise cancelling headphones as the next-generation flagship in its premium audio lineup. These new headphones succeed the popular WH-1000XM5 model and bring numerous upgrades in terms of audio quality noise cancellation and intelligent features.
At the heart of the WH-1000XM6 is Sony’s newly developed HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3 which the company claims offers performance up to seven times faster than its predecessor. With a total of 12 microphones built into the headset these headphones deliver a more precise and environment-adaptive active noise cancellation experience.
Designed in collaboration with world-renowned mastering engineers from Sterling Sound Battery Studios and Coast Mastering the Sony WH-1000XM6 promises refined audio quality and exceptional clarity. The headphones feature LDAC codec support enabling high-resolution audio streaming along with 360 Reality Audio for an immersive sound experience. The integrated Edge-AI and DSEE Extreme technologies upscale compressed digital audio in real-time restoring details typically lost in compression.
A unique highlight of the WH-1000XM6 is its intelligent scene-based listening which automatically adjusts audio and noise cancellation based on the user’s surroundings and activities. Whether commuting working or relaxing the headphones tailor the experience accordingly.
