Tecno has officially confirmed the India launch date for its upcoming budget smartphone the Tecno Pop X. The handset is scheduled to debut on March 4 at 12pm IST and will be available for purchase through Amazon India. A dedicated microsite has already gone live revealing key design elements and select specifications ahead of the announcement.
The teaser page shows the Tecno Pop X sporting a flat rear panel and flat frame design with a pill-shaped camera module housing a single rear camera sensor and LED flash. An infrared sensor is also visible on the back. The device is confirmed to feature a display with up to 120Hz refresh rate though it appears with noticeable bezels. Physical buttons including the power key and volume controls are placed on the right side while the SIM tray sits on the left edge. The smartphone will be offered in at least a white colour option at launch.
While the company has not yet disclosed pricing or chipset details industry sources suggest that the Tecno Pop X may arrive as a rebranded version of the Tecno Spark Go 3 which launched in India earlier this year. The Spark Go 3 features a 6.74 inch HD plus IPS display with 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the Unisoc T7250 processor built on a 4nm architecture. It offers 4GB LPDDR4x RAM paired with 64GB storage along with a 13 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera. The device also packs a 5000mAh battery supporting 15W wired charging and carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
If the Tecno Pop X mirrors these specifications it could target the affordable smartphone segment with a competitive feature set. More official details including pricing configuration options and availability are expected to be announced at the launch event.
