After nearly 20 years, Hollywood icons Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway have reunited on screen in the first teaser of The Devil Wears Prada 2. The much-anticipated sequel to the 2006 cult classic has finally been unveiled by 20th Century Studios, sparking excitement among fans across the globe.
The short teaser, lasting under a minute, opens with Streep’s legendary character Miranda Priestly striding through her bustling office toward an elevator. Just as the doors close, Andrea “Andy” Sachs, played by Hathaway, steps in with a smile and greets, “Miranda.” In a rare moment of softness, Miranda shifts aside to make space for Andy and responds dryly, “Took you long enough.” The clip ends with Andy flashing her signature confident smile and slipping on her sunglasses — a subtle nod to her transformation since the first film.
Fans flooded social media with emotional reactions, celebrating the long-awaited reunion. One fan wrote, “This teaser is perfection — the heels, the music, Miranda and Andy, everything!” Another commented, “Seeing Miranda actually move aside for Andy shows huge character growth!” Hathaway also shared the teaser on her Instagram, captioning it: “It’s everyone’s birthday. #43 #DWP2,” referencing her 43rd birthday which coincided with the teaser release.
The sequel brings back Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, with David Frankel returning as director. New faces joining the cast include Lady Gaga, Kenneth Branagh, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B J Novak, Pauline Chalamet, and Simone Ashley. Produced by Wendy Finerman and Karen Rosenfelt, and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, the film is set to release on May 1, 2026. Filming began in June 2025, and fans are eager to see where the story takes Miranda and Andy two decades later.
