Tom Holland Greets Fans and Films Thrilling Stunt on Spider-Man Brand New Day Set in Glasgow

Date:

Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially kicked off in Glasgow, Scotland, and fans have been given a rare front-row view of the action. Tom Holland, returning for his fourth outing as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s friendly neighborhood superhero, took time to interact with onlookers while shooting some jaw-dropping scenes.

Unlike Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was shrouded in secrecy, the latest installment is embracing an open set approach, welcoming crowds to witness filming up close. In a newly released behind-the-scenes video from Sony, Holland shares his excitement about day one on set, calling it his “fourth-ever day one” as Spider-Man.

Dressed in the iconic red-and-blue suit, Holland is seen lifting a young fan into his arms, posing for photos, and chatting with kids before jumping back into work. “It feels funny putting the suit on. It feels different this time. It’s also the first time we’ve had fans on set for day one, so it’s exciting to share this with them,” Holland says with a smile.

The video also reveals a high-energy sequence featuring Holland atop a moving tank, prying open its hatch in true superhero style. Several shots of the scene have already gone viral across social media. Holland teased that there are “familiar faces” returning to the cast and promised to give his all to the role, saying, “I’m just gonna do my best, hopefully get it right. No pressure.”

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and produced by Amy Pascal alongside Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will see Zendaya reprise her role as MJ, with newcomers Sadie Sink and Liza Colon-Zayas joining in undisclosed roles. The highly anticipated film swings into theaters in July 2026.
