UAE Tops Global Safety Rankings as One of the Safest Countries with Dubai Among Safest Cities Worldwide

Date:

The United Arab Emirates has secured its place as one of the safest countries globally, according to a recent survey conducted by Numbeo, a popular crowd-sourced living database. The UAE achieved an impressive safety index score of 85.2, positioning it as the second safest nation in the world, surpassing Andorra, which scored 84.8.

Numbeo’s safety rankings are calculated based on survey responses gathered over the past three years, considering factors such as general crime perception, safety when walking alone at night, and concerns regarding violent crimes, burglary, and discrimination. A higher score on this index indicates a safer environment.

Within the Gulf Cooperation Council region, the UAE leads alongside Qatar and Oman, with Qatar ranking third at 84.6 and Oman sixth at 81.4. Other countries rounding out the top five include Taiwan with a score of 83.0 and Macao scoring 81.8.

Among cities worldwide, the UAE boasts five cities within the top ten safest: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Ras Al-Khaimah, and Sharjah. Dubai, known for its vibrant lifestyle and iconic landmarks like Dubai Marina and the Burj Khalifa, holds the fourth spot with a safety score of 83.9.

Abu Dhabi has maintained the top city ranking for nine consecutive years, achieving the highest safety score of 88. Ajman ranks second with a score of 85.5, while Ras Al-Khaimah secures fifth place, celebrated for its beautiful natural scenery. Doha is the only city outside the UAE to appear in the top five safest cities globally.

This recognition highlights the UAE’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high security standards, offering residents and visitors peace of mind across its cities and regions.
