Vaibhav Suryavanshi Stuns Rising Stars Asia Cup With 32-Ball Hundred And Calm Post-Match Wisdom

Date:

Fourteen-year-old Indian batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered a remarkable performance in the Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025 clash against UAE, producing a dazzling century off just 32 balls and surprising viewers with his composed and thoughtful interview afterward. Playing his debut match for India A at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium, the teenager hammered 144 runs from only 42 deliveries, smashing 15 sixes and 11 fours to propel his team to a strong total of 297/4. India A later secured an emphatic 148-run win, but the young left-hander’s maturity both during and after the innings quickly became the talking point.

Before his explosive knock, Suryavanshi had turned down several fan selfies to stay focused. Speaking during the innings break, he explained that crowd noise doesn’t affect him once he steps onto the field, describing the atmosphere as motivating rather than pressurising. He reflected on his journey with unusual calmness for someone his age, expressing gratitude for how far he has come and acknowledging the discipline instilled by his father from childhood. He said that although the strict upbringing felt tough earlier, he now understands how it shaped his focus and control at crucial moments.

Broadcasters were both amused and impressed by his thoughtful remarks, joking that they had not expected life lessons from a 14-year-old. His blistering hundred equalled Rishabh Pant’s 32-ball T20 record, making him the joint second-fastest Indian to reach the milestone. At just 14 years and 232 days, he also became the youngest player ever to hit a century for any men’s national representative side. He now holds the rare distinction of having two T20 hundreds in 35 balls or fewer, the first coming in the IPL as its youngest centurion. A dropped catch off the first ball nearly ended his innings early, but he capitalised fully, earning a standing ovation from the India A dugout as he walked off after an unforgettable 144.
