Vivo Launches OriginOS 6 and BlueOS 3 with Android 16 Features and AI Upgrades

Vivo has unveiled OriginOS 6 alongside BlueOS 3 at its 2025 Developer Conference, bringing the latest Android 16-based user interface to its smartphones and smartwatches. OriginOS 6 introduces a range of AI-powered tools, redesigned widgets, and smoother animations, while BlueOS 3 is designed for Vivo and iQOO smartwatches.

The new OriginOS 6 UI comes with Live Photo AI Removal, AI voice prompts, AI image editing, AI summary generation, and Circle to Search 2.0. It also features resizable clock widgets, circular app icons, curved-edge widgets, real-time blur effects, progressive blur, stacked notifications, and the Atomic Island interface, inspired by dynamic elements in modern operating systems.

The Blue River Smooth Engine, part of OriginOS 6, enhances animations, screen transitions, touch responsiveness, and scrolling frame rates, ensuring a lag-free experience across Vivo and iQOO devices. The update also brings a music lock screen, redesigned control centre, and customisable quick settings, offering users a highly personalised interface.

OriginOS 6 will be pre-installed on the Vivo X300 Pro, Vivo X300, and iQOO 15, while older devices will receive the update according to a phased release schedule. BlueOS 3 will launch first on Vivo Watch 5 and iQOO Watch 5 starting November 3, 2025, offering up to 33 days battery life, always-on watch faces, new physical animations, personalised apps, and Blue Heart V calling functionality.

  • February 2026: Vivo X Flip, Vivo S20 Series, iQOO Neo 8 Series, iQOO Z9 Series
  • March 2026: Vivo X Fold+, Vivo S19 Series, Vivo Pad 5 Series, Vivo Pad 3 Series, iQOO 10 Series, iQOO Pad 5 Series, iQOO Pad 2 Series
  • April 2026: Vivo S18 Series, Vivo Y500, iQOO Neo 7 Series
