Vivo V70 Series 5G debuts in India today with Elite model and flagship features

Date:

Vivo is set to officially unveil its new premium mid-range smartphones in India today with the launch of the Vivo V70 Series 5G. The lineup includes the Vivo V70 and the newly introduced Vivo V70 Elite, both positioned to succeed last year’s V60 series. Ahead of the launch, Vivo has already confirmed several key details, building strong anticipation among smartphone buyers in the sub Rs 65,000 segment.

The Vivo V70 and V70 Elite will be announced at 12pm IST through an online launch event. The company has highlighted that the devices will feature ultra-slim 1.25mm bezels, claimed to be the narrowest in their price category in India. Both smartphones are expected to run on OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, offering a refined software experience with new AI-driven features.

In terms of performance, the Vivo V70 Elite will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, targeting users looking for flagship-level speed and efficiency. The standard Vivo V70 will come equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, aimed at delivering strong everyday performance. The series is expected to feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K display with a 120Hz refresh rate, high pixel density, and peak brightness reaching up to 5,000 nits.

Photography will be a major highlight of the Vivo V70 Series. The smartphones are tipped to feature a Zeiss-tuned triple rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor with optical image stabilisation. A 50-megapixel telephoto lens and an ultra-wide camera are also expected, while the front camera may offer a high-resolution 50-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls.

Battery life is another strong point, with Vivo expected to pack a large 6,500mAh battery in both models. The devices are likely to support 90W wired fast charging, ensuring quick top-ups despite the large battery capacity.

As per early reports, the Vivo V70 price in India could start at Rs 45,999 for the base 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, while the Vivo V70 Elite may begin at Rs 51,999. Multiple RAM and storage options along with premium colour choices are expected to be announced at launch.
