Vivo is reportedly gearing up to unveil its latest smartphone, the Vivo Y400 5G, in the Indian market this August. Following the successful launch of the Vivo Y400 Pro 5G on June 20, anticipation is building for the more affordable non-Pro version. According to leaks, the Vivo Y400 5G will feature a vibrant AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and is expected to be priced under Rs 20000, making it a competitive option in the mid-range smartphone segment.

This marks a contrast to the Vivo Y400 Pro 5G, which was introduced in Freestyle White Fest Gold and Nebula Purple. The Y400 5G is positioned as a toned-down variant of the Pro model and is likely to come with slightly modest specifications while retaining premium features like a high refresh rate AMOLED display and a hole-punch selfie camera design.
The Vivo Y400 Pro 5G features a 6.77-inch full-HD+ 3D curved AMOLED screen offering a 120Hz refresh rate a peak brightness of up to 4500 nits and a 300Hz touch sampling rate. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage the Pro model also includes a dual rear camera system consisting of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. For selfies a 32-megapixel front camera is provided.
The Vivo Y400 Pro 5G also stands out for its AI-driven functionalities including AI Photo Enhance AI Erase 2.0 AI Note Assist AI Transcript Assist AI Screen Translation and AI Superlink. It is powered by a large 5500mAh battery and supports blazing-fast 90W wired charging.
While official confirmation from Vivo about the Y400 5G’s launch date and full specs is still pending the upcoming smartphone is expected to cater to users seeking premium display quality and balanced performance at an affordable price point. With its anticipated launch in August the Vivo Y400 5G may emerge as a compelling option in India’s crowded mid-range 5G smartphone market.
