Xiaomi 17 Pro Series Successors to Feature Upgraded Dynamic Rear Display With Enhanced Features

Date:

Xiaomi is set to continue its innovative Dynamic Back Display on the upcoming successors of the Xiaomi 17 Pro series. The rear 2.1-inch screen, first introduced with the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, is designed to provide real-time notifications, previews, and selfie functionality. Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing has confirmed that future flagship models will retain this unique feature while adding enhanced software capabilities.

The Dynamic Rear Display surrounds the camera module and supports LTPO adaptive refresh rate, Dragon Crystal glass protection, and improved functionality such as real-time translations and interactive widgets. Xiaomi is reportedly investing heavily in research and development to expand the display’s capabilities and provide monthly feature updates for users.

The Xiaomi 17 series, launched in China in 2025, has already set impressive sales records with the Pro models outperforming their predecessors by 20 percent. The smartphones run on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, Leica-tuned triple rear cameras, and large batteries ranging from 6,300mAh to 7,500mAh with 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging support.

With features like pinned schedules, QR codes, reminders, notifications, and music playback, the Dynamic Back Display transforms the rear of the phone into a fully interactive secondary screen. Xiaomi’s commitment to this innovation reflects the growing trend of multifunctional smartphone designs aimed at improving user convenience and interactivity.
