Xiaomi 17 Series Launch Set for September 25 with New Design and Specs

Date:

Xiaomi is gearing up to unveil its latest flagship lineup with the Xiaomi 17 series in China on September 25, 2025. The series will feature three models: Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, all powered by the highly anticipated Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, promising significant performance improvements over the previous generation.

The standard Xiaomi 17 will feature a 6.3-inch flat display with ultra-elliptical corners and a 19.6:9 aspect ratio. Ultra-narrow bezels measuring just 1.18mm create a near edge-to-edge screen, while the phone weighs approximately 191g. The design includes a monochromatic glass lens with a four-micro-curved middle frame, delivering a sleek modern look.

On the front, the smartphone comes with a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera, while the back houses a Leica-branded triple camera setup in a square module along with an LED flash. The right side of the phone features volume controls and a power button. Xiaomi has confirmed at least two colourways for the standard model, including white and blue, while the Pro and Pro Max models will be offered in Forest Green and Cold Smoke Purple.

Xiaomi President Lu Weibing highlighted that the Xiaomi 17 series will be the first smartphones globally to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The standard model will deliver a comprehensive upgrade over the Xiaomi 15 without a price increase, continuing Xiaomi’s strategy of offering high-end features at competitive pricing.

The Xiaomi 17 series pre-orders in China are expected to begin shortly after the official launch. Tech enthusiasts can look forward to enhanced performance, advanced camera capabilities, and premium design with the upcoming flagship series.
