European carrier resumes Dubai flights with restricted operating hours

Date:

A leading European airline has confirmed that it is restarting services to Dubai under a limited flight schedule, impacting passengers planning travel over the coming weeks. The carrier will now operate select daytime flights only, as it continues to review regional conditions and adjust operations accordingly.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, headquartered at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, had suspended several services to Dubai International Airport toward the end of January. In its latest travel advisory, the airline announced that flights between Amsterdam and Dubai will operate only during daylight hours until at least Sunday March 1.

The airline stated that the revised timetable is part of an ongoing safety review and that schedules may change depending on developments. Passengers booked to travel with KLM via Dubai or Amsterdam between Friday January 23 and Sunday March 1 are eligible to rebook their journeys free of charge or request a full refund. Some travellers may already have been automatically transferred to alternative flights.

KLM has also confirmed that customers who faced additional costs such as accommodation meals or communication expenses due to cancellations can submit claims for reimbursement. The airline continues to monitor the situation closely while maintaining an adjusted presence between two of the world’s busiest international hubs.

Earlier, the Dutch carrier had suspended flights to several destinations across the Gulf region including Dubai Riyadh Dammam and Tel Aviv. While services to Saudi Arabia have since resumed Tel Aviv routes remain paused for the time being.

The announcement comes amid wider disruptions across European airlines operating to the Middle East. Sister airline Transavia has cancelled Dubai services until mid March while Air France briefly halted flights before resuming operations in late January. Meanwhile Emirates has also adjusted some long haul services due to severe weather affecting parts of the United States.

Travellers are advised to check their booking status regularly and stay in contact with their airline ahead of departure to avoid last minute disruption.
