Samsung has begun rolling out its fifth One UI 8.5 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series introducing a significantly enhanced version of the Bixby voice assistant. The update focuses on making Bixby more intuitive by enabling natural voice commands and integrating real-time web access allowing users to interact with their devices in a more human-like way. The stable version of One UI 8.5 is expected to debut alongside the upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup.
With One UI 8.5 Samsung has reworked Bixby to better understand everyday language. Users no longer need to remember exact feature names or rigid commands to control their phones. Instead Bixby can now interpret intent based on conversational phrases and automatically adjust relevant settings. This improvement aims to reduce friction and speed up common tasks across Galaxy devices.
Samsung explains that the upgraded Bixby can analyze the current device setup and intelligently suggest actions even if the user is unaware of specific settings. For example a simple spoken request about screen behaviour can prompt Bixby to activate the correct display option without manual navigation.
Another major upgrade is the addition of real-time web search integration. Bixby can now fetch live information directly from the internet and present it within its own interface. This allows users to get updated answers such as travel recommendations or local listings without opening a separate browser app.
The improved Bixby experience is currently available through the One UI 8.5 beta in select regions including India Germany Korea Poland the UK and the US. Samsung has confirmed that a wider global rollout is planned in the coming months. The latest beta also includes the February 5 2026 security patch further strengthening system protection ahead of the stable release expected during the Galaxy S26 launch event.
