Dubai Airports halts all departures and arrivals at DXB and DWC amid airspace restrictions

Date:

Flight operations at both of Dubai’s international hubs have been paused after Dubai Airports confirmed the temporary suspension of all services at Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport until further notice. Passengers scheduled to travel have been advised not to proceed to the airport and to contact their respective airlines directly for updated information.

The decision follows a temporary partial closure of UAE airspace announced by the General Civil Aviation Authority as a precautionary step in response to rapidly evolving regional security developments. Authorities stated that the situation remains under continuous review.

In an official statement Dubai Airports confirmed that operations at both DXB and Dubai World Central Al Maktoum International are suspended and further updates will be shared as developments unfold. Travellers are strongly encouraged to monitor airline communication channels before making any plans to travel.

Meanwhile Emirates has temporarily halted all flights to and from Dubai until 3pm UAE time on Monday March 2. The airline has provided flexible options for affected passengers including rebooking within 20 days of the original travel date or requesting a refund. Customers are advised to check flight status updates online and contact the airline or their travel agent for assistance.

Similarly flydubai has suspended its Dubai operations until 3pm local time on March 2. The carrier confirmed it is working closely with authorities and adjusting schedules as needed. Passengers travelling within the next 72 hours can rebook on alternative flights within the same country up to 20 days from the original departure date or apply for refunds. The airline has also urged travellers to update contact details through the Manage Booking platform and check flight status before heading to the airport.

Authorities and airlines continue to monitor the situation closely with passenger safety and security remaining the top priority. Further travel advisories are expected as airspace conditions evolve.
