How to Make Crispy Thread Chicken at Home – Easy and Delicious

Date:

Crispy Thread Chicken is a crunchy and flavorful appetizer that is perfect for parties or a quick homemade snack. Tender chicken strips are marinated in a spicy and tangy mixture, then carefully coated with boiled noodles or thin pastry strips and deep-fried to a golden crisp. This dish combines juicy chicken with a delicate crunchy exterior, making it irresistible for both kids and adults.

Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 500 grams boneless chicken
  • 4–5 tablespoons corn flour
  • 1 egg
  • 200 grams boiled noodles (or 10–12 spring roll wrappers/samosa sheets cut into thin strands)

For the Marinade:

  • 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce or tomato chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Schezwan sauce or chili sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Boil noodles until tender, drain, and let them cool. If using spring roll wrappers or samosa sheets, slice them into thin noodle-like strands.
  2. Clean and cut the chicken into medium-sized strips.
  3. In a large bowl, mix all the marinade ingredients, add chicken strips, and marinate for at least 2 hours.
  4. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of corn flour over the noodles to keep them dry and prevent sticking while frying.
  5. Add the remaining corn flour and the egg to the marinated chicken and mix thoroughly.
  6. Carefully coat each chicken strip with the prepared noodles or pastry strands.
  7. Heat oil in a kadhai over low to medium flame and deep-fry the coated chicken until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve hot with sweet chili sauce, Schezwan sauce, or your favorite dipping sauces.

Enjoy crispy thread chicken as a party appetizer, family snack, or a special treat for any occasion.
