Cristiano Ronaldo has kicked off Al Nassr’s new season in trademark fashion, finding the back of the net in their opening match of the pre-season tour held in Austria. Facing French side Toulouse at the Untersberg Arena, Ronaldo proved that his sharpness and instincts remain intact as he netted the equalizer after Al Nassr had conceded early.
Toulouse took the lead in the 25th minute through midfielder Yann Gboho, but the response from the Saudi Pro League giants was swift. In the 33rd minute, Ronaldo made his mark by completing a fluid move initiated from deep in midfield. Brazilian winger Talisca received a long pass and delivered a precise low cross into the box, which Ronaldo converted with a clean finish, scoring his first goal of the 2025-26 campaign.
Despite being 40 years old, Ronaldo’s impact was immediate and influential. He was substituted at half-time, having done his job in drawing Al Nassr level. The momentum continued as rising talent Mohammed Maran found the net in the 76th minute, assisted by Nawaf Boushal, ensuring a confident 2-1 victory for the team.
The match was part of Al Nassr’s European pre-season tour and took place at the scenic Untersberg Arena in Austria. The Saudi side is scheduled to take on Spain’s Almeria on August 10 in their next pre-season fixture. Their competitive journey for the new season will begin with a high-profile clash against Al Ittihad in the Saudi Super Cup. The encounter promises fireworks, with Al Ittihad boasting global stars like Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté, and Moussa Diaby.
In preparation for the season ahead, Al Nassr have also added firepower to their squad by signing Portuguese forward Joao Felix from Chelsea in a deal worth 30 million Euros. Felix, known for his creativity and technical skill, has previously played alongside Ronaldo for Portugal and brings much-needed flair to the midfield. With young striker Jhon Duran loaned to Turkish club Fenerbahce under new boss Jose Mourinho, Felix’s arrival could be the spark Al Nassr’s attack needs.
