Dubai is preparing for another ambitious waterfront development as Nakheel moves forward with plans for a major new residential district on Dubai Islands. The newly announced Island B project is expected to transform the coastline into a vibrant community designed for modern living.
Unlike developments focused solely on tourism, Island B will feature a fully integrated neighbourhood with villas townhouses road networks and a wide range of lifestyle amenities. The project is being developed as part of a larger vision to expand Dubai’s coastal infrastructure and create sustainable urban spaces.
The development is designed to accommodate more than 230000 residents and will include approximately 49000 homes located off the coast of Deira. With its scale and design, the project is being compared to iconic destinations like Palm Jumeirah, though it aims to deliver a more community focused environment.
While an official completion date has not yet been confirmed, significant infrastructure work lies ahead including the construction of roads drainage systems marinas retail outlets and leisure facilities. The project will also be seamlessly connected to the mainland through three dedicated bridges ensuring easy accessibility for residents and visitors.
Island B will be developed alongside Island A as part of the wider Dubai Islands masterplan which aims to boost tourism support population growth and strengthen economic diversification across the emirate.
Officials from Dubai Holding Real Estate highlighted that the project marks a key milestone in delivering one of Dubai’s most important coastal developments reinforcing long term urban growth and investment potential.
Once completed, the new waterfront community is expected to become a landmark destination offering a mix of residential lifestyle and leisure experiences in line with Dubai’s vision for future city expansion.
