Dubai residents who rely on public transport will soon enjoy a more rewarding commute thanks to the Roads and Transport Authority’s upcoming Nol Plus loyalty upgrade. The new system is designed to give daily Metro and Tram users an incentive to travel more sustainably while unlocking exclusive shopping and lifestyle benefits across the city.
Revealed through a social announcement on Monday November 17, Nol Plus will allow users of gold silver and blue Nol cards to earn points on every journey and redeem them at leading retail destinations including major shopping hubs like Dubai Mall. A teaser released by the RTA hints that a full breakdown of the earning system and partner benefits will be officially unveiled on Friday November 21.
The rewards program is integrated into the redesigned Nol Pay app which now features a cleaner interface and smoother navigation. The upgraded platform will also support the RTA’s long-term plan to move toward Account Based Ticketing creating a unified and more intelligent transport payment ecosystem for the emirate.
New features in the Nol Pay app include managing family Nol cards scheduling automatic top ups receiving instant balance alerts purchasing travel passes on the spot and topping up credit in real time. Users will also benefit from additional services such as mobile recharge options and proactive notifications to help avoid low balances or expired cards.
Earlier this year the RTA signed strategic agreements with KHDA Parkin and PayPal enabling Nol cardholders to use their cards for dining parking and attraction visits. While full details of Nol Plus are yet to be released these collaborations are expected to expand the card’s versatility and support Dubai’s shift toward reduced cash usage and streamlined digital payments across multiple sectors.
