Hollywood Filmmaker Rob Reiner and Wife Found Dead at Los Angeles Residence

Legendary filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner were discovered deceased at their Los Angeles home, according to multiple media reports released late Sunday. Authorities responded to the couple’s Brentwood residence after receiving a call and found two bodies at the property. Reports indicate that investigators believe the deceased are Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.

Sources cited in media coverage suggest that both individuals had injuries consistent with knife wounds, although officials have not yet released an official cause of death. Rob Reiner was a towering figure in American cinema, known both for his on-screen performances and his remarkable work behind the camera. He first became a household name in the 1970s through the television sitcom All in the Family, where he portrayed Mike “Meathead” Stivic. As the son of legendary entertainer Carl Reiner, he went on to build an influential career in Hollywood.

As a director, Reiner delivered a string of critically acclaimed and commercially successful films. His directorial debut This Is Spinal Tap became a cult classic, followed by iconic titles such as Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, and A Few Good Men, the latter earning him an Academy Award nomination. He also appeared in several films over the years, including Sleepless in Seattle and The Wolf of Wall Street.

Rob Reiner met photographer Michele Singer while working on When Harry Met Sally in the late 1980s. The couple married in 1989 and shared three children. They had lived in their Brentwood home for many years. Tributes are expected to pour in from across the film industry as the news continues to unfold.
