Honor Power 2 Performance Revealed Ahead of China Launch on January 5

Date:

Honor is gearing up to unveil its next-generation smartphone, the Honor Power 2, in China on January 5, and the brand has already started teasing key details ahead of the official launch. The upcoming device is positioned as a major upgrade in the Power series and is set to become the first smartphone powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Elite processor.

Ahead of the launch, Honor has confirmed that the Power 2 has crossed an impressive 2.4 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark, placing it among the top-performing smartphones in its expected price segment. While Honor has not yet revealed the official pricing, the company claims this score is the highest in its category, hinting at strong gaming and multitasking performance.

In addition to performance figures, Honor has also teased the design and colour options of the device. The Honor Power 2 will be available in three colour variants, namely Phantom Night Black, Sunburst Orange, and Snow White. These options suggest a blend of premium and bold aesthetics aimed at a wide range of users.

The smartphone has already been listed on Honor’s official China website, confirming several major specifications. One of the standout features is its massive 10,080mAh battery, which is designed for heavy users and long gaming sessions. The battery will support 80W wired fast charging along with 27W reverse charging, allowing users to power other devices when needed.

As per leaks and rumours, the Honor Power 2 is expected to feature a large 6.79-inch LTPS flat display with a 1.5K resolution of 1200 x 2640 pixels and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The screen could also deliver up to 8000 nits of peak brightness, making it suitable for outdoor usage.

On the camera front, the device is tipped to include a 50-megapixel rear camera setup and a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. The smartphone is likely to run on Android 16 with Honor’s MagicOS 10 skin on top and could feature a slim profile with a thickness of around 7.98mm, despite housing a large battery.

The Honor Power 2 is expected to succeed the original Honor Power, which launched in April 2025 with an 8000mAh battery and Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. With major improvements in performance battery capacity and charging speeds, the new model aims to attract power users and mobile gamers alike.
