Nutritionist Reveals Walking Beats Running for Fat Loss and Sustainable Weight Management

A renowned nutritionist, Nupuur Patil, who successfully lost 30 kilograms, has shared that walking is more effective than running for long-term fat loss. According to her, walking helps maintain a steady fat-burning mode, balances hormones, and prevents burnout — making it the best choice for sustainable weight management.

While running might seem like the faster route to burning calories, Patil explains that walking offers consistent results without straining the body or triggering hunger spikes. “Running burns calories quickly but also raises cortisol levels, leading to stress and increased appetite,” she explained.

Here are the six reasons why walking is better than running for fat loss, according to Nupuur Patil:
