Motorola’s long-running partnership with Pantone has once again placed the brand under the spotlight, as early leaks suggest that the anticipated Pantone Colour of the Year 2026 may already be present in one of the company’s foldable smartphones. A new report indicates that the colour named Lightest Sky—a soft, airy blue tone—could be Pantone’s official pick for 2026. Interestingly, Motorola released a device in this exact shade months before Pantone’s announcement is expected.
A reliable industry tipster shared that Lightest Sky is likely to be Pantone’s upcoming hero shade, echoing their previous accurate leak regarding last year’s colour, Mocha Mousse. Motorola has a history of debuting Pantone-inspired finishes ahead of official reveals, and this year appears no different. The Motorola Razr 60, which arrived in India earlier in 2025, already features the Lightest Sky colourway, creating speculation that Motorola may have once again offered an early preview of Pantone’s upcoming global trend.
Motorola and Pantone’s collaborative approach has consistently influenced colour direction across tech and lifestyle products. With this new leak, the Razr 60 has become a focal point, not just for its foldable design but for its trendsetting aesthetic. If the rumour proves true, it means consumers have been using a 2026 trend colour nearly a year before Pantone’s official reveal.
The Razr 60 is also available in two additional Pantone-certified shades—Gibraltar Sea and Spring Bud—each offering its own unique material finish. While Gibraltar Sea brings a textured fabric-like feel, Spring Bud features a vegan leather panel, and the Lightest Sky option stands out with its marble-inspired back. Pantone is expected to confirm its 2026 colour choice by the end of the year, and Motorola is likely to expand its lineup with more Lightest Sky-themed devices once the announcement is made.
